Price Performance

Basis of our Recommendation

Havells India is currently navigating a challenging landscape characterized by margin pressures and muted volume growth, primarily due to raw material price volatility and intense competition. Management's focus on long-term growth through a significant capital expenditure program, particularly in the Cables & Wires division and the emerging Renewables sector, is crucial for future revenue acceleration. Despite current headwinds, including elevated advertising costs and competitive pressures, the company anticipates a recovery in margins as recent price hikes take effect and marketing expenditures normalize. Vista's financial outlook reflects expectations of accelerating revenue growth beyond historical trends, although margins are projected to remain under pressure. The favorable macro environment, with strong manufacturing activity and stable inflation, supports Havells' strategic initiatives. Over the next 12-24 months, key opportunities include expanding the Renewables segment and enhancing distribution efficiency, while watchpoints include commodity price fluctuations and execution risks associated with capacity expansions. Overall, while the near-term outlook is cautious, the long-term growth trajectory remains supported by strategic investments and a diversified product portfolio

Havells India is focusing on long-term growth through strategic investments in renewables and significant capacity expansion in the Cables & Wires segment. The company is navigating margin pressures due to raw material price volatility and high advertising expenses, particularly impacting the Lloyd segment. Despite these challenges, management remains optimistic about margin recovery as price hikes are realized and advertising costs normalize. The company's entry into the BESS market and increased production capabilities are expected to drive future growth, although risks from geopolitical disruptions and competitive pressures persist.
