Price Performance

Basis of our Recommendation

Triveni Turbine is currently navigating a challenging environment marked by margin compression and soft domestic demand. Management's focus on higher-margin export and aftermarket orders, alongside a robust order book of Rs21.8bn, positions the company for a potential recovery in FY27. The strategic pivot towards utility gas turbines and refurbishment, coupled with emerging opportunities in the U.S. data center sector, supports Vista's forecast of a gradual improvement in revenue and margins. However, geopolitical disruptions and execution risks remain significant watchpoints. The industrial equipment sector's improving pricing power and stable operational environment provide a favorable backdrop, although Triveni's revenue is expected to contract in the near term. Vista's outlook reflects a cautious stance, with a target price of Rs562.95, indicating a potential downside of 6.23%. Over the next 12-24 months, key opportunities include the expansion into high-margin segments and international markets, while headwinds consist of geopolitical volatility, competitive pressures, and the impact of low-margin projects on overall profitability

Analysts' Viewpoint
Triveni Turbine is capitalizing on strong export order momentum, particularly in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe, and is poised for growth in the US data center sector. This shift is critical as domestic demand remains weak, with extended order cycles and geopolitical disruptions impacting execution. The company's focus on high-margin aftermarket services and new technology solutions, such as Organic Rankine Cycle, underpins its growth strategy. However, margin pressures persist due to a high mix of low-margin domestic orders and elevated freight costs. Key catalysts include the commissioning of the NTPC CO2-based energy storage project and potential US market breakthroughs.
