Basis of our Recommendation

Vardhman Textiles is positioned for robust growth, driven by strategic capacity expansions and favorable market dynamics. Management has highlighted a positive outlook, particularly in the yarn segment, supported by a favorable cotton-yarn spread and strong demand from China. The company's ambitious capex plan, including a significant increase in garment manufacturing capacity, is expected to enhance revenue growth, with projections indicating a 50% CAGR in the garment segment through FY28. However, management cautions that current elevated margins may not be sustainable, particularly as low-cost inventory is depleted and competitive pressures persist. Vista's financial outlook reflects an acceleration in revenue growth and improving margins, aligning with management's expectations. The textiles industry is experiencing stable growth, bolstered by increasing consumer demand and favorable economic conditions, although competitive pricing pressures remain a concern. Over the next 12-24 months, key opportunities include the successful commissioning of new capacity and the potential benefits from upcoming free trade agreements, while watchpoints include the timing of the Dhar project and volatility in cotton prices

Vardhman Textiles is capitalizing on favorable yarn spreads and increased Chinese demand, driving growth through significant investments in spinning and garment capacity. The company is expanding its spindle count and garment production, targeting a 50% CAGR in the garment segment by FY28. However, execution risks at the Dhar project, due to power delays, and the inherent volatility of cotton-yarn spreads present challenges. Future growth is supported by the commissioning of new projects and strategic diversification into synthetic textiles.
